Model-turned-actress Lee Sung Kyung, in an interview, compared her character in the recently-ended drama series "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" and her other profession which is modeling.
According to Korea Herald, the celebrity admitted weightlifting and modeling differ from each other. "In modeling, you have to be scouted for shows. In weightlifting, you have to win medals," Lee Sung Kyung said.
Lee Sung Kyung took the role of Kim Bok Joo in the drama series. She shared the small screen with Nam Joo Hyuk, who played as a swimmer athlete. The actress even had to gain some weights to play as a talented weightlifter.
She added there was an instance when she felt depress because of her weight, stating that she had to eat before going to bed to achieve the right figures. "My face would be puffy the next morning," Lee Sung Kyung shared.
However, all her sacrifices paid off after winning the hearts of the audience for playing as the "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo." Lee Sung Kyung admitted all her worries disappeared after learning about the feedbacks.
From taking second lead roles for her previous projects, Lee Sung Kyung said she is happy to be considered as the main cast for "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo." The actress shared she was able to express herself well in the drama series, Soompi reported.
"After expressing hurtful emotions all the time with my past characters, it felt nice to act a character that the script revolved around," she said.
She also commended co-actress Kyung Soo Jin, who took the second lead as a gymnast and Jung Joon Hyung's ex-lover. Lee Sung Kyung said she fully understands what it feels like to play the second lead as she has experienced the same thing on "Doctors" and "Cheese in the Trap."
