Ruco Chan currently has the most online votes needed to be awarded as the Oriental Daily's fan-picked TV King of 2015 while the actor's wife, Kay Tse, has asked for the assistance of others to vote for Chan on Facebook.
The 38-year-old actor from Hong Kong currently stars in "Captain of Destiny" in which Chan acts as the 11th prince.
The online poll is being conducted by the Oriental Daily and can be participated by fans through Facebook and by going to on.cc app of the Hong Kong media outlet, according to JayneStars.com.
Likewise, the poll was made in anticipation of the 2015 TVB Anniversary Awards in which about 40 actors and actresses in total have been nominated for the TV King and TV Queen awards. Thus, the choices for the poll were directly based on the award nominees.
Chan is poised to win as Oriental Daily's TV King because of the staggering number of votes provided by the singer's fans. On the first day alone, Chan received 907 likes, which was 494 more than the votes garnered by Louis Cheng, who had to settle for second place.
Moreover, Chan is incredibly appreciative of the support given by the fans, and the actor thanked each of the fans who gave comments. Similarly, Chan's wife, Kay Tse, persuaded her own fans to vote for her husband on Facebook.
Interestingly, the profile video of "Momentary Lapse of Reason" star Cheng's had 9,631 views compared to Chan's video that only got 3,638 views during the first day of the poll.
In third place for the TV King popularity award is Anthony Wong, who is part of "Lord of Shanghai" and has 173 likes and 931 profile video views.
Meanwhile, Chan humorously remarked about being afraid of the paparazzi ever since filming for the TVB crime thriller series titled "Eye in the Sky," according to TODAYonline.
The Hong Kong star noted that the anxiety toward the paparazzi developed because of the way some people would publish false stories about celebrities.
"Eye in the Sky" was aired this year on TVB First and had Chan acting as Cheng Nik-hang.
