"The Affair" has added "Desperate Housewives" alum Jonathan Cake to its Season 3 cast. In other news, the new season has been reported to launch with a time jump following last year's cliffhanger.
According to TV Line, Cake has landed the recurring role of Furkat on "The Affair" Season 3. Cake's character is a Brooklyn-based photographer who will be introduced as Whitney's (Julia Goldani Telles) boss and her new potential love interest. The actor, who was known for playing Det. Chuck Vance on ABC's "Desperate Housewives," currently stars on the UK comedy, "Camping."
In addition to Cake, Guy Burnet will also recur on the Showtime drama as Mike Cornwall, a graduate student and campus Lothario. He is set to interact with Noah Solloway in the new installments. The duo joins other Season 3 guest stars including Brendan Fraser and Jennifer Esposito.
In addition to a slew of new guest stars, "The Affair" will also feature a time jump in Season 3. According to series star Maura Tierney, the first hour will pick up three-years later - following the cliffhanger event which found Noah confessing for Helen's crime.
"When season 3 starts it's three years later, so quite a bit of time has passed," Tierney told Entertainment Weekly.
"We go back and forth - sometimes it's a year-and-a-half later, sometimes it's three years later. So everyone has moved on quite a bit, and Helen's in a new relationship and Noah is sort of beginning a new relationship."
"The Affair" also stars Ruth Wilson, Dominic West and Colin Donnell. Season 3 premieres on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 10PM on Showtime.
