Production for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is about to start and fans could no longer wait for the movie to finally come out.

Reports about the details of the upcoming sequel have been circling around as Director James Gunn has kept the fans updated through his Facebook posts. According to Hollywood reporter, one of the biggest plot twists that was announced about the movie is the fact that the identity of Peter Quill's father would be revealed, and as it turns out, Ego the living Planet is his dad.

A lot of fans were not truly happy about the revelation at first, as they were concerned in how the movie would justify introducing the Living Planet. Fans were all wondering how can a living planet be able to procreate with a human being.

Though in order to assure fans, Gunn stated that it is all going to be fine and Ego being Peter Quill's dad would still make the movie in line. He even gave out a statement saying that fans should not be quick to judge and they should give the movie a chance first.

The same publication stated that Kurt Russel, who would be playing the role of Ego the Living Planet, expressed how excited he is to be playing the role. He also dig in to what story line the upcoming sequel would be revolving around.

According to Russel, the upcoming "Guardian of the Galaxy" sequel would be close to everyone's heart, especially because it would focus on the reunion between family members. He also stated that although it is not ideal for his character to be seen as a loving father, it doesn't mean that people would not be able to relate with the father-and-son struggles that would be featured in the film.

Russel even stated "This is going to be one of the more- probably for Marvel, its more connected to human issues, family issues, parental issues, and issues that sons and daughter have with their moms and dads and family tree, where they come from."

ABC News also reported that even Chris Pratt is in awe with how the upcoming sequel's script turned out.

During an interview with the actor, he was trying so hard not to reveal any intricate details about the film, although in his statement, Pratt said that the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is "Going to be the biggest spectacle movie of all time."

Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel will be back to reprise their roles in the sequel.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is set to premiere on May 5, 2017.
