Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma and actor Ranbir Kapoor are all set to work together again in a Sanjay Dutt biopic.
As per latest media reports, director Raju Hirani has signed Sharma to play a small yet important role in the biopic. The "3 Idiots" fame director is making a biopic on his close friend and actor Sanjay Dutt with "Tamasha" actor Kapoor in lead role, India Today reported. Earlier, there were speculations that the 27-year-old "PK" actress has been roped in to play Dutt's love interest in the movie.
A source close to filmmakers, however, clarified saying that Sharma will not play female lead in the movie. "Anushka is not playing Manyata or even any of Sanjay's love interest. It's a cameo appearance, she will be seen as a scribe/biographer who chronicles Sanjay's life in the film," a source told Mumbai Mirror. "The Munnai Bhai MBBS" director has yet to finalize female lead for the movie.
Kapoor and Sharma will be seen together for the third time in Sanjay Dutt biopic after "Bombay Velvet" and "Ae Di Hai Mushkil." Sharma is currently busy shooting for Imtiaz Ali's "The Ring" opposite superstar Shahrukh Khan.
Kapoor on Monday resumed shoot of Anuraag Basu's much delayed "Jagga Jasoos" opposite his foreign girlfriend Katrina Kaif. They are also promoting their second movie together "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil," which is slated to release on October 28. The Karan Johar directorial will clash with Ajay Devgn's ambitious project "Shivaay" on box office.
