Actress Shantel VanSanten has teased to possibly return as Patty Spivot in the cast of "The Flash" Season 3. Her character was the love interest of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) in the previous season.
VanSanten attended the recently held Heroes and Villiains Fan Fest. She confirmed a very strong possibility when she was asked about her possible involvement in "The Flash" Season 3.
VanSanten's character Spivot in "The Flash" was the partner of Detective Joe West (Jesse L. Martin). She, later on, dated Allen. It has been a struggle for Allen to keep Spivot safe.
Spivot broke up with Allen when she knew that Allen is "The Flash." Before leaving, she called Allen and tipped that she knew who the speedster. She left to pursue her education.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, writers Aaron and Todd Helbing premiered the first official trailer "Flashpoint" for "The Flash" Season 3 at the San Diego Comic-Con panel. In the promo, Allen finds himself in an altered timeline. He chose to go back in time and save his mother.
The new timeline for "The Flash" Season 3 has been dubbed "Flashpoint" after the similarly themed comic book storyline, as Comicbook reported. It features the Wally West alternate version of The Flash. It shows the costume inspired by the classic "Kid Flash" legacy of the character.
The "Flashpoint" trailer will just be the beginning of "The Flash" Season 3. The "Kid Flash" joke dropped in that scene of banter goes over nicely. The new Big Bad speedster Savitar is yet to be fully revealed.
"The Rival" is one of the new villains in the series and may be a fairly minor character. However, he was not only the original Reverse-Flash but later turned into a huge problem for the Justice Society.
"The Flash" Season 3 is already filming and is set to return on Oct. 4, Tuesday, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
