Arrow's 100th episode, which is also the mega-crossover event of all DC shows airing on the CW, now has an official villain to battle. There's also word that the milestone hour will see the return of Katie Cassidy as Laurel.
The hotly-awaited crossover episode of "Arrow," "The Flash," "Supergirl" and "Legends of Tomorrow" will feature a Big Bad from the DC comics. According to IGN, Warner Bros announced last Thursday that the official villain will be the Dominators, an alien race inspired from the 1980s DC crossover called the "Invasion!"
"We're taking inspiration from a DC crossover from the late 1980s known as Invasion!, which featured an alien race called the Dominators, who'd previously vexed the Legion of Superheroes," executive producer Marc Guggenheim said in a statement.
"We're using cutting edge prosthetics and computer effects to achieve a feature film-quality look, which is faithful to Invasion! artist Todd McFarlane's interpretation of the characters."
Arrow's 100th episode might also feature the return appearance of Katie Cassidy as Laurel/ Black Canary. On a Facebook post, the actress hinted her potential return - captioning the post with "100 #arrow." Since her character has already died, it is unclear if the actress will appear in a flashback sequence or some other means.
Other familiar faces set to return on Arrow's 100th episode include Deathstroke, Oliver's father Robert (Jamey Sheridan), and Moira Queen (Susanna Thompson).
"Arrow" stars Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Willa Jolland, Emily Bett Rickards, Paul Blackthorne, and Echo Kellum. Season 5 Episode 1 titled "Legacy" is slated to air on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 8PM on the CW. The 100th episode, meanwhile, will air sometime in December.
