"Jurassic Park" star Sam Neill joins the cast consisting of Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston in the superhero film "Thor: Ragnarok" in a secret role. However, he is unsure about returning for a "Jurassic World" sequel.
Neill has just revealed that he will be in "Thor: Ragnarok," IGN reported. He confirmed it during an interview with ShortList in support of his latest film "Hunt for the Wilderpeople." He also said that he is already been filming for a couple of days with Thor (Hemsworth) for the secret role.
Neill joked that if he will say more details in "Thor: Ragnarok," the secret agents of Marvel will come and get him and probably his children also since they are known to be lethal. He admitted that he is not really allowed to say anything else. He cannot tell what his role is.
According to Comicbook, "Thor: Ragnarok" is directed by Taika Watiti. It will reunite not only Neill with director Waititi from "Hunt for the WIlderpeople" but also Neill with his "Jurassic Park" co-star Jeff Goldblum.
In the same interview, Neill does not know yet if he will be reprising his role as Dr. Alan Grant in the upcoming "Jurassic World" sequel. He suggested that Grant might be retired at that time and would be sick to death of dinosaurs.
Goldblum plays the cosmic being known as The Grandmaster in "Thor: Ragnarok." Other cast members include Hiddleston as Loki, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Karl Urban as Skurge, and Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie.
"Thor: Ragnarok" pairs up Thor and Hulk for a cosmic road trip adventure. It is expected to borrow certain elements from the storyline "Planet Hulk." Hulk's gladiatorial costume will likely be seen.
Marvel's third Thor film "Thor: Ragnarok" will be released in theaters on Nov. 3, 2017. The new logo, Valkyrie's sword, and new set photos have been recently revealed.
