It's been two years since Taylor Swift released her multi-awarded hit album "1989" and fans are aching for new material from the singer. Rumors continue to swirl that the 26-year-old is working on a new album, and there are already speculations about the release date.

Swift previously shot down rumors that she's going to drop new music in October this year. However, a new clue suggests that a fresh album from the "Shake it Off" star might be just around the corner.

Country singer Kelsea Ballerini, who also happens to be a good friend of Swift's and a member of her squad, posted a video on Snapchat to preview a new song. What caught everyone's attention was that the vocals sounded more like Swift's than Ballerini's. According to Radio.com, a female voice can be heard singing the line "We didn't know it, thought we could grow it / beautiful for a moment / we were roses, yeah."

It may just be a mere coincidence, considering that nothing has been confirmed from Swift's camp at this point. It could also be collaborative project between Swift and Ballerini, and not exactly a track from Swift's rumored 2016 album.

An October release for a Taylor Swift album is highly likely, considering that her previously albums also came out on the same month. The Chicago Tribune reported that five of her studio albums dropped in October, with the exception of "Fearless" which was released on November.

Aside from Ballerini's Snapchat story, fans also factored in other relevant events in coming up with the theory on Swift's album. For one, the singer is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of her music career. It's definitely a major milestone for the Grammy Award-winning artist.

Another thing fans are taking into consideration is her highly-publicized break up with Tom Hiddleston. The couple called it quits after three months of dating. The couple first confirmed their relationship in June, after which they were followed by a media firestorm that documented their dates around the globe

A source close to the couple told E! News that Swift broke things off because Hiddleston wanted to make the relationship even more public and that "she was not happy about it."

Swift is notoriously known for penning songs about her exes, which makes the break up come in perfect timing for a potential October 2016 release date.

So far, Swift has remained quiet about any details as to her new music. Stay tuned for more updates.
