Breaking News: UFC Fighter Josh Samman died after a long week in coma

UFC Fighter Josh Samman passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 4 after being in coma for days. Previously, he was found unresponsive in his Florida home last week and rushed to the hospital.

He was found unresponsive in his Florida home on Friday last week with his roommate, an MMA anouncer Troy Kirkingburg who was pronounced dead at the scene according to the report by Sky Sports. Samman was rushed to the Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Fla and he had been in the coma ever since.

There are many speculation about the cause of mysterious death, as there are no signs of foul play according to reports. A drug or heroine is indicated to play the role, but Samman's mother came out and denied the allegation, saying doctor found no trace of heroine in her son.

Samman's manager Gary Ibarra issued a statement to FOX Sports on Wednesday about his passing. The statement read, "It is with a heavy heart that the family of Joshua Samman, well known professional mixed martial artist, promoter and author have announced his passing this morning at 7:20 a.m. at Regional Memorial Hospital in Hollywood, Florida. He was 28 years old,"

Ibarra also said the cause of death is yet to be found awaiting for an autopsy. He also asked people to support the family of the fighter in prayer.

Samman had a history of substance abuse and he admitted it in his memoir entitled "The Housekeeper: Love, Death and Prize Fighting." He also wrote about his struggle in dealing with a tragic death of his girlfriend in a single car accident in 2013.

The middleweight fighter debuted his UFC career in 2007, after years of experience in the amateur MMA fights. He won his first bout against Travis Miller with unanimous decision on April 28. During his UFC career he made a 12-4 record, with his latest fight was in July when he loss by way of TKO against Tim Boetsch.
