The great strategy game is when a player utilizes tactics and different functions of each unit to achieve victory in a skirmish, such as "Rome: Total War." What's even better is when they get to strategize their armies in a mobile platform since Feral Interactive has announced the game coming to the iPad.

Among the "Total War" series, "Rome: Total War" is the third installment and considered "not only one of the best strategy games ever, but one of the best PC games, period," according to TouchArcade. The port of the game will be coming to the iPad "without compromise."

Plot-wise, "Rome: Total War" allows players to take control one of the three Roman powerful houses competing for the Empire (or Republic) of Rome. The game is a turn-based strategy type of play where players command legions of Roman soldiers in the field.

As the Feral Interactive describes the game: "'ROME: Total War' is a strategy game of epic scale, offering players a seamless integration of strategy and tactics to fight spectacular battles, while using diplomacy, subterfuge and assassination to pave the road to ultimate victory."

Phone Arena also adds that the players would also unlock other playable factions as they advance throughout the game.

The PC game was so well-received by players that a lot of them contributed mods for it soon after its release.

The iOS game will only be compatible for the first generation iPad Air or newer, iPad mini 2 or newer, or any iPad Pro, requiring only about 4GB of free space to for it to be installed.

"Rome: Total War" will coming to the iPad this fall for the price of $9.99. Feral Interactive, however, has yet to release an exact date.
