"Superstar K2" runner-up John Park's recent revelation about his love life was seen as an indication that dating rumors linking him to Jo Hyun Ah are not true.
According to Allkpop, Park talked about his current status in an interview with Ilgan Sports two weeks ago. During the session, the "American Idol" semifinalist admitted he does not have a girlfriend at the moment.
"I think I'm lonely but I don't want to date. I don't know what kind of theory this is but that's just how I feel," Park said.
He went on talking about his status, "When you date, you have to focus only on dating, but I have to work on music and it'll be too much doing both. Currently, I don't have a girlfriend."
Park's statement is clearly contrary to rumors linking him to the Urban Zakapa member. According to Soompi, a source claimed Park and Jo have been dating for the past two years.
The source even added the two artists became close to each other because of their love for music. Prior to rumors, Park and Jo collaborated for a track titled "Nearness Is To Love" under Urban Zakapa's "Still" album.
Amid dating rumors, Park and Jo's respective labels denied the two are in a relationship. "It's true that the two are good friends, but they're not in a dating relationship," the agencies said.
Park rose to fame after placing second on "Superstar K2." Prior to that, he joined "American Idol," where he was one of the semifinalists. He impressed the judges with his audition piece "I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know" by Blood, Sweat and Tears.
In 2013, Park released a studio album titled "Inner Child" with songs "Imagine," "Too Late" and a bonus track "Sipping My Life."
