GOT7 member Jinyoung was recently spotted filming the upcoming fantasy drama series "The Legend of the Blue Sea," confirming that he is indeed playing the younger version of Lee Min Ho's character.
Last month, it was reported that Jinyoung had been tapped to play the younger version of Lee Min Ho's Kim Moon. JYP Entertainment, however, clarified that the 22-year-old singer/actor has not been confirmed for the role.
A photo taken by a fan on the set of "The Legend of the Blue Sea" verifies Jinyoung's participation in the drama, Koreaboo reports. He was spotted wearing traditional clothing, indicating that he is indeed playing the son of a noble family in the Joseon Dynasty.
"The Legend of the Blue Sea" is Jinyoung's fifth drama series. He previously appeared in "Dream High 2," "Dream Knight," Beloved Eun Dong" and "When a Man Falls in Love."
Meanwhile, the fantasy drama series is top billed by Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun in leading roles. Lee will play a dual role in the series: Kim Moon, who is of noble descent in the Joseon Dynasty and Heo Joon Jae, a con artist in the present time who scams people by using various disguises. Lee's character will find a connection between these two poles in the fabric of time.
On the other hand, Jun Ji Hyun will play the mermaid Shim Chung, who gets captured by Lee's Kim Moon.
Filming for "The Legend of the Blue Sea" kick started in August this year. Drama Fever reports that filming is primarily taking place in the mountainous region of Goesan, Chungbuk in South Korea. The show is also expected to feature exquisite scenery from overseas, having filmed in Palau and Spain as well.
The drama is written by Park Ji Eun, who also wrote "My Live From the Star." "The Legend of the Blue Sea" is directed by Jin Hyuk, who previously worked with Lee Min Ho on "City Hunter."
"The Legend of the Blue Sea" is expected to premiere this November.
