Life has been a lot different for former U-KISS member Dongho ever since he left the group and the competitive K-Pop industry. He currently appears on the reality show "A Man Who Gives Dog Food," where he opened up about his past experience as an idol.
Dongho's recalled his days as an idol as he browsed through fan letters and old photos. He shared that he didn't have a lot of good memories from those times.
"I can't believe I endured all that, if you told me to do it now, I couldn't. I can't look at these photos with only happy memories," Dongho revealed, as quoted by allkpop. "Now that I think about it, I don't have many good memories.
He went on to share they often went home late at night, and that he took sleeping pills to counter the effects of those stressful days.
Previously on the show, Dongho also revealed that he saw a therapist for 6 years when he was still a singer and that he would often miss his therapy due to his busy schedule.
Fans were shocked when Dongho announced his departure from U-KISS in 2013. One of the reasons cited for his exit was that his health condition could not catch up with the demands that came with being an idol.
In November 2015, 20-year-old Dongho married his long-term girlfriend. He initially denied rumors that their marriage was not because of his wife's pre-marital pregnancy. However, he later clarified that he had to deny it to the public in order to protect his wife and their child from the negativity that the controversy would bring.
Allkpop reported that Dongho's wife gave birth to their son on June this year. He said on his show that it's good to have a child early.
