Trade talks about LaMarcus Aldridge in the middle of the NBA season is being denied by the Spurs management says Spurs beat writer Jeff McDonald.

In a series of tweets, the Spurs reportedly said that they aren't looking to trade Aldridge for now. However, the rumors are not likely to go away. If the Spurs' season does not go as planned, Aldridge's name may come up in the rumor mill again before the trade deadline in February, San Antonio Express News reported.

After losing star power forward Tim Duncan to retirement, the Spurs signed the 31-year-old cager [Aldridge] to an $84 million contract last offseason. However, according to Jackie Macmullan on CSNNE's Early Edition, the experiment with Aldridge has not worked out as hoped, Yahoo Sports News reported.

The cager was pitched to being becoming the star of their offense in 2015 with the hope that his rise will be similar to that of Kawhi Leonard but it has not materialized. Last season, Aldridge averaged 18 points, 8.5 rebounds shooting 51 percent from the floor.

While it might seem strange to trade a player to is averaging pretty good numbers, Alec Nathan from Bleacher Report pointed out that Aldridge may not be a good fit for the Spurs. He went to say that with Aldridge around, the Spurs were much worse defensively last season.

Aldridge can opt out of his contract after the 2017-2018 season . At 31, this means that his trade value might never be higher.
