Superstar Rajinikanth now in US for medical reasons [VIDEO]

Indian superstar Rajinikanth is reportedly in United States for medical reasons. As per the media reports, the massively popular South Indian actor has recently flew to US for a follow up health check up. A close family aid is staying with him during his current US trip.

"From May to June, Superstar Rajinikanth was in USA for medical checkup. Now, this brief stay is a followup to the treatment," a source said, Sify reported. The source further revealed that Rajinikanth will soon return to India to attend his upcoming movie "2.0" first look launch event in Mumbai. In June, the "Shivaji" actor underwent a kidney ailment related treatment in United States and after two months of hospitalization, he began shooting for "2.0." Rajinikanth had gone a kidney related surgery in Singapore in 2011 and since then he has been going through routine health checkups in USA.

The 65-year-old Kollywood superstar, who was last seen in blockbuster gangster drama "Kabali" opposite Radhika Apte, will be next seen in Shankar's upcoming science fiction flick "2.0." He has reportedly wrapped up the shoot of the movie. Director Shankar has completed shoot of Rajinikanth's part as superstar's health is continue to have health related issues, Gulte reported. A sequel of 2010 superhit action drama "Robot," "2.0" also stars Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and British model turned actress Amy Jackson in lead roles. The movie, which is slated to hit theaters next year, will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages.
