Sacramento Kings guard Ben McLemore is reportedly on the trading block. The Kings are reportedly getting calls of interest for the veteran guard's services.
It has been reported that the Kings' are unhappy with McLemore's performance which led to his diminished playing time on court. Last season, it had been reported that McLemore wanted out of the King's roster, Sacramento Town Royalty reported.
Fans speculated that he was kept for as long as he did because the King's were not getting the offers that they wanted. Earlier, the Milwaukee Bucks made a move to get McLemore for Michael Carter-Williams or Greg Monroe but the Kings turned the over down, CBS Sports reported.
The Bucks need all the offensive firepower that they can get after they lost Khris Middleton to a hamstring injury. Beastly on the other hand cannot draw a good amount of defensive attention that a shooter can, especially at the 3-point line. McLemore could have been the one to fill that gap if the Kings agreed to the trade.
McLemore's contract is reportedly ending soon and his situation is similar to that of Carter-Williams who has not secured any contract extension. This is interesting for the Kings because they could either lose McLemore to free agency or trade him for another player.
Recently, Kings coach Dave Joerger raved about McLemore's performance on practice. If this performance could translate during the season, the Kings also have the choice of keeping him around until he reaches his full potential since they are also in need of someone to man the point.
