The "Resident Evil" movie franchise is reaching its end now. Fans might miss it (or not), but the latest trailer shows that the movie will be the most action-pumping, monster-filled and explosive title in the franchise ever.
Also called "Biohazard: Final" in Japan, "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" will be bringing in some familiar elements from the previous movies, according to Comicbook.com. One such element is the fact that the protagonist Alice (played by Milla Jovovich) will be returning to the original source of the T-Virus (and other variants as well) which is Raccoon City, now dilapidated, forlorn, and zombie-infested (along with other biological monstrosities).
Another returning element from the previous films involve the red-tinted holographic girl called the Red Queen, who will guide Alice and her companions to stop this plague and Umbrella Corporation once and for all or lead them to their doom like the first movie.
Other elements returning in the final film will be the laser traps, where Alice would have utilize her acrobatic skills to avoid from getting minced, motorcycle driving through, the post-apocalyptic scenery, and the return of characters like Ali Larter's Claire Redfield, Iain Glen's Doctor Isaacs and Shawn Roberts' Albert Wesker as the fan-favorite.
Earlier reports also introduce Ruby Rose ("Orange is the New Black") as one of the Alice's new companions. Joining her are also new faces like William Levy ("The Tempest") and Fraser James ("Law & Order: UK").
Directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" will hit theaters on Jan. 27, 2017.
