Microsoft has just launched its most anticipated product called Microsoft Surface Studio. The released all-in-one touchscreen desktop computer at the New York Media event comes with a Surface Pen.
Many did not expect that Microsoft will launch a product such as the Microsoft Surface Studio. Other tech companies are surely caught off guard because of its unique feature that allows the whole screen to tilt down on a four-point hinge that converts to a tabletop touchscreen PC. Though it does not recline fully flat, it sits at nearly 20-degree angle. That position is great for drawing, wiping things around on the screen, and drafting.
Microsoft Surface Studio comes with a Surface Pen, the same pen that Surface Pro and Surface Book use. Another tool that comes with the 'all-in-one' desktop PC is the Surface Dial which looks like a large knob of speakers. It settles on the desktop just like a jog wheel that can be turned clockwise or counter-clockwise depending on the need, according to Wired.
Once the Surface Dial is placed on the screen, it spontaneously brings out a frame of reference menu. Using the Dial in a drawing app suggests a color picker or a wheel of brush selections. Inside Surface Dial is a haptic engine that makes it like a mechanical piece that requires AAA batteries and corresponds with the computer through BT LE.
Microsoft Surface Studio sports a 28-inch, 4500x3000 display which measures 12.5mm in thickness and laid out in a constructed aluminum enclosure. This makes it the sleekest LCD monitor that Microsoft has ever manufactured. It offers 63 percent more pixels compared to a 4K TV, which boasts of a smooth 192 pixels-per-inch density which can be carried out either in DCI-P3 or SRGB mode with just a press of the button, PC World reported.
The 'all-in-one' desktop PC runs on a quad-core Core i7 processor along with a TB "Rapid Hybrid Drive". Microsoft Surface Studio also has a built-in Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M with up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM.
Microsoft Surface Studio already started its pre-order which comes to $2,999.99 and a fully-loaded loaded version is priced at $4,199.00. The Surface Dial comes free until December but after that, it will be an add-on of $99.
