The cast of "Nashville" is expanding. The hit musical soap has added "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" actor, Christian Coulson, to play a recurring character in Season 5.

As first reported by Deadline, Coulson will play the role of Damien George, an accomplished British director who will be helming Gunnar Scott and Scarlett O'Connor's first music video. He will appear in a recurring basis throughout "Nashville" Season 5. Aside from this intel, the publication further shares that Coulson's character is somehow a perfectionist and gets off on pushing the limits of his actors to achieve his specific vision.

Aside from his work on the "Harry Potter" franchise, Coulson has also appeared on "Mozart in the Jungle," "Eye Candy," "Nurse Jackie," and "The Good Wife."

In other developments, "Nashville" will introduce a love interest for Rayna's daughter, Maddie in Season 5. According to TV Guide, previously cast "Legends of Tomorrow" actor Joseph David-Jones has been tapped to play Maddie's new beau. His character, Clay, is described as a charming and outogoing African-American musician who carries a load of emotional issues.

"Though he and Maddie come from wildly different socioeconomic backgrounds, they find common ground in music," wrote the site.

"And while the idea of dating a 'bad boy' may appeal to Maddie initially... she's going to be in for a lot more than she bargained for."

Created and executive produced by Callie Khouri, "Nashville" stars Charles Esten, Chris Carmack, Clare Bowen, Connie Britton, Hayden Panettiere, Jonathan Jackson, Lennon Stella, Maisy Stella and Sam Palladio. Season 5 premieres on Thursday, Jan. 5 at 9PM on CMT.
