"The Winds Of Winter," the most awaited book from the fantasy series "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R.R. Martin will be release a little bit late than scheduled. The author is also teasing for a "Game of Thrones" prequel book.
The forthcoming sixth novel "The Winds of Winter" was supposed to come out before the premiere of "Game of Thrones" Season 6, however, Martin apologized that he did not finish the novel before its deadline. In his Live Journal Blog, the 68-year old writer acknowledge that he is a slow writer, but at least his books made a crossover to television.
Fans of the series has been patiently waiting for the book's release. The upcoming season of "Game of Thrones" is presently in production, but, the highly expected novel "The Winds of Winter" has yet to be published.
Rumors and speculations arose among fans upon the delay of "The Winds Of Winter" book. One of the rumors suggest that the novel's release date will be on 2017 through 2018. However, Martin refused to give an update regarding the books progress.
Previously, Martin claimed, although he did not directly admit, that he holds a several thousands of pages that details the history of Westeros before "The Game Of Thrones," Deadline reported. His statement indicates that he is just not currently working with "The Winds Of Winter" book but also on the unnamed prequel book.
Meanwhile, plot for the upcoming Season 7 of "Game of Thrones" has leaked online. The series is currently in production at Spain and casts were disappointed upon hearing the news. A theory started circulating online that producers and writers might rewrite the plot for Season 7 due to its online leakage.
