South Korean artists Kim Soo Hyun and Hongki of the rock band Five Treasure Island (F.T. Island) have failed to make it to the final cut of the Korean Professional Bowlers Association’s (KPBA) bowling competition.

According to a report by All KPop, Kim scored an average of 192.4 and clenched the 68th spot out of 97 in the game after scoring 174, 191, 204, 220, 190, 177, 182, and 196 in the morning and 184, 224, 236, 214, 214, 195, and 222 in the afternoon.

Hongki, on the other hand, gained a total mean of 172.2 and ranked 89. His record shows that he scored 224, 201, 225, 224,160, 203, 201, and 172 in the morning and 143, 179, 151, 177, 146, 180, and 136 in the afternoon.

Although Kim and Hongki did not make it to the final round, the two stars still received praises not just from their supporters but from experts as well for their exceptional performances. Their first qualification for KPBA took place from October 22-23.

In a recent interview with the Pro-Bowling Committee's president Oh Il Soo, Kim’s dedication for the sport was highly regarded. He was also seen to have a great potential in bowling.

"I've watched pro-bowler selection matches many times, but Kim Soo Hyun definitely stands out... Considering that he trained in the early mornings because of his busy schedules, he has great potential," said Oh as quoted by All Kpop.

Kim’s interest in bowling started in 2013, practicing the sport up to 4-5 hours a day. Since then, he has been joining competitions not just in Korea but in China as well.
