Billboard World Albums chart shows the top-selling music albums in the world within the week. And this week, BTS, TWICE, and Jay Park all made it to the Top 5.
Previously nabbing the No. 1 spot on Billboard World Albums chart for two consecutive weeks, BTS's second studio album "Wings" drop to the second spot in the chart as of Nov. 2, Soompi reported.
Being in the second place, the group continues to demonstrate their worldwide popularity even after almost a month of releasing the album. BTS's album "Wings" was released just last Oct. 10.
Nabbing the third spot on Billboard World Albums chart is TWICE's mini-album "TWICEcoaster: LANE 1 (EP)," which was released by JYP Entertainment on Oct. 24. Following in line is Jay Park's "Everything You Wanted," which was released on Oct. 20.
Meanwhile, producer and president of Big Hit Entertainment, Bang Si Hyuk unveils his stand regarding BTS's debut in the United States. The topic was brought up after the group made records on the Billboard chart.
Bang revealed that, "A K-pop singer gaining attention in America's mainstream market with the genre of K-pop and competing with American mainstream artists with the goal of making an official debut overseas is completely different from the start. I believe BTS came to their position today by utilizing their strengths as K-pop singers and I'm planning to continue their growth with that focus," AllKpop has learned.
Adding that if during the process, the group exceeds a certain point and gain attention in the American mainstream market, then that will be something to be thankful about. Stressing that to prepare an official debut overseas is too much.
It is worth noting that BTS is known for their large international fanbase, having performed in Asia, Europe, Australia, North America, and South America, BTS won the Best World Performer award during the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards. The group are also known for their large social media presence.
