Preview

San Antonio opened the season on a four-game winning run starting with a 129-100 humiliation of the Golden State Warriors in their season-opener.

However, the streak was broken by the Jazz on Tuesday night at the AT&T Center in San Antonio as they thrashed the Spurs, 106-91, as per USA Today.

Utah made 15 of their 31 shots from beyond the arc to unsettle the usually composed Spurs, outscoring the hosts 33-20 in the fourth quarter.

San Antonio was led by Kawhi Leonard's 30 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals stat line with LaMarcus Aldridge backing him up with 21 points and four boards.

Other than the two, the rest of head coach Gregg Popovich's players seemed lethargic during the match as the team dropped their first game this season.

Meanwhile, the Jazz moved on from their San Antonio-win to a 97-81 demolition of the Dallas Mavericks also at their home stadium on Wednesday in the second night of a back-to-back, the Deseret News reported.

Four of head coach Quin Snyder's five starters scored in double figures in another balanced offensive attack for Utah.

George Hill had 25 points, six rebounds, and four assists while Rodney Hood fired 22 markers and grabbed seven boards in another productive evening for the Jazz's backcourt.

Veteran wingman Joe Johnson netted 13 points with five boards and four dimes while big man Rudy Gobert had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Prediction

It would be hard to beat the Spurs twice in one week, but the Jazz has enough momentum right now to pull off the job. Coach Snyder has made the Jazz one of the best defensive teams this early in the season as they held four of their first five opponents below 100 points. However, the Spurs has won six of their last eight road games, which means they are as deadly out of their home court. San Antonio prevails via a close margin.
