In celebration of 20 years in the industry, Blizzard would be pleasing fans by remaking the original "Diablo" game with the "Diablo 3" engine, according to Blizzard's Chief Development Officer Frank Pearce announced at BlizzCon 2016.
Original "Diablo" game playable in the "Diablo 3" engine
According to IGN, the original "Diablo" will be accessible through the "Darkening of Tristram" anniversary patch of the "Diablo" franchise. The patch will feature the music from the original game and visual tweaks on the "Diablo 3" engine to look very much similar to the first "Diablo" game. User Interface (UI) of "Diablo 3" will be shifted to look almost exactly like the one in the original "Diablo." Players will also recognize the four main baddies from the first game: The Butcher, The Skeleton King, Lazarus and none other than Diablo himself.
Here's the official announcement from Blizzard:
"Head to Old Tristram in Adventure Mode during the month of January to discover a portal where you can explore a Diablo III recreation of the events that transpired in the original Diablo. Filled with iconic enemies, familiar faces, and some old-school items, this event is a nostalgia-packed adventure down memory lane. Transmogrification rewards, achievements, and a few extra surprises await those brave enough to plumb the depths below Tristram."
New Necromancer class available in "Diablo 3"
WCCFTECH also covered the news of the Necromancer class being fully confirmed and available. The "Rise of the Necromancer" pack will include class in both male and female genders, along with two additional character slots, two additional stash tabs and even a pet. Blizzard mentioned that the class will be available for "Diablo 3" at around the second half of 2017. However, no price has been mentioned about the pack yet.
