Preview

Dallas is on a two-game winning run after starting the season with five straight losses and the team earned both wins with veteran All-Stars Dirk Nowitzki and Deron Williams out with separate injuries.

The Mavericks are coming off a 109-97 win over the up-and-coming Los Angeles Lakers on the road at the Staples Center on Tuesday night, as per ESPN.

Harrison Barnes led the squad with a second consecutive 30-point output, scoring 31 points on 11-for-18 field goal shooting. He also had two rebounds and two assists in 40 minutes of action.

Starting point guard JJ Barea had 18 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists in an impressive all-around performance. The three players who came off the bench, namely Seth Curry, Justin Anderson, and Dwight Powell, all scored in double figures with 23, 11, and 10 points respectively.

"I'm just being aggressive," said Barnes after the match. "That was the biggest thing in my first few games (with the Mavs), figuring out when to be aggressive and when not to. You just kind of have to leave the switch on, and if you fail, fail aggressively."

The win was the Mavs' first on the road this season as they now tout a 1-3 away slate.

Meanwhile, the Warriors bounced back from a humiliating 20-point loss to the Lakers last Friday by defeating the winless New Orleans Pelicans, 116-106, at the Oracle Arena on Monday, SB Nation reported.

Reigning league MVP Stephen Curry also bounced back from a 0-for-10 three-point performance in the previous match to a record-breaking 13-for-17 stint from beyond the arc in this game.

Curry broke his own record of 12 three-pointers made in a single game which he shared with Kobe Bryant and Donyell Marshall. He scored 46 points in the process, outshining his other illustrious teammate, Kevin Durant, for the first time this season.

Klay Thompson had a better field goal shooting stint of 11-for-20, but continued to struggle from the three-point are, going 2-for-7, scoring 24 points.

Durant chipped in 22 points while Draymond Green had a double-double of 12 rebounds and 11 assists.

Prediction

Another lopsided win for the Warriors against an outmatched and undermanned Mavericks.
