The Lakers snapped a three-game winning run after they fell to the Dallas Mavericks, 109-97, at the Staples Center on Tuesday, as per USA Today. The loss dropped them down to an even .500 record of 4-4 after eight games so far this season.
Jordan Clarkson came off the bench to lead the Hollywood squad in scoring with 22 points, shooting 9-for-12 from the field, including a 2-for-3 stint from the three-point line. He also had two assists and three steals in 28 minutes of action.
Nick Young top-scored for the starters with 20 points on 7-for-12 field goal shooting. He shot 3-for-6 from downtown and also had two rebounds.
D'Angelo Russell played only 26 minutes because of foul trouble and fired 12 points, grabbed five boards, and dished out seven assists. Julius Randle had a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Lou Williams fired 15 points coming off the bench with four boards, three assists, and one steal.
Head coach Luke Walton was disappointed about the loss but commended his team's efforts in the second half.
"I thought we did a little better job in the second half fighting," said Walton. "I thought we were a little soft in the first half. We had our chances."
Meanwhile, the Kings are rising at the moment with two straight wins after going on a four-game losing slide.
Their last game ended in a 102-94 victory over winless squad New Orleans Pelicans also at their home court of Golden 1 Center on Tuesday, the Sacramento Bee reported.
DeMarcus Cousins led the team in scoring with 28 points, but he only had four rebounds as the starting center. He did have four assists, two steals, and two blocks, though.
Rudy Gay backed him up with 21 points, six boards, six assists, two steals, and one block while Arron Afflalo chipped in 15 points, two rebounds, and two assists.

Sacramento is on a roll right now and they are favored to win this match at home, pushing the Lakers back down below .500.
