It actually looks like that the video game world is already seeping into other forms of media, especially movies and, more recently, TV shows. Now that Ubisoft has already been making an "Assassin's Creed" movie, CEO Yves Guillemot has already been in talks in doing a Netflix series.
Although there hasn't been any exact detail on what the show will be, all we know is that Ubisoft is striving to make the said series independent in spite of the pressure shareholder Vivendi is giving, based on reports from Reuters.
Vivendi started to purchase shares in Ubisoft around the latter part of 2015. The studio even persisted in purchasing shares after acquiring Gameloft in June earlier this year. CEO Guillemot considered the takeover of Vivendi very disastrous.
"The French mass media company ruled out making a Ubisoft hostile takeover bid in October," according to the report in Reuters. "But [the company] currently holds more than 20 percent of shares."
In lighter news, publisher Ubisoft has already expanded and has made its way to film and television world, creating its own division called "Assassin's Creed" movie, according to IGN. Other film projects the studio has in mind are "The Division" (starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain) and ("Splinter Cell") Tom Hardy. Ubisoft even has a smaller scale project based on the "Rayman" spin-off, "Raving Rabbids," called the "Rabbids Invasion" TV show, which first aired on Aug. 3, 2013.
Ubisoft isn't the only one hitting the TV and film media world, Activision also just released a Skylanders animated series on the streaming service of Netflix from its film and television division.
