Hollywood actor Jack Black shocked fans when he revealed that even after co-starring with Chinese actor Jackie Chan in three movies he still hasn't got the opportunity to meet him. It's true! The "Kung Fu Panda" 1, 2 and 3 co-stars have never met each other.
In an interview with SIKids, Black talked about his upcoming movie "Kung Fu Panda 3" and Chan. When asked about his interaction with Chan, Black made the big revelation.
"You know what's crazy? This is the third Kung Fu Panda movie and I have still not met Jackie Chan. Impossible right?," Black said. "But not impossible, because when we go into record we go in alone and they put our voices together for the movie."
The actor confesses that he has many questions to ask the 61-year-old actor, who is trained in Kung fu and Wing Chun.
"First, I'd ask him why did he steal my name? And then I'd ask him, What is his secret to his long, long career? What does he eat for breakfast? That's what I'd ask him," Black disclosed.
In "Kung Fu Panda," Black voices the title character and the protagonist Po. The 25-year-old giant panda is the chosen Dragon Warrior. As for Chan, he voices Po's friend Monkey. The two are very close friends and Monkey loves to prank Po.
The series also stars Angelina Jolie Pitt as Tigress, Dustin Hoffman as Master Shifu, Lucy Liu as Viper, Seth Rogen as Mantis, David Cross as Crane, James Hong as Mr. Ping and others. The new addition to the cast this time is Kate Hudson's Mei Mei, a female panda whose marriage was fixed with Po when they were kids.
"Kung Fu Panda 3" brings Po back to his biological father. Here, he begins his journey with him to a secret sanctuary of pandas. He finds out that he might be very different from his community. Here, he even meets Mei Mei. Meanwhile, a dark force takes over China and begins to threaten Kung fu masters. Thus, Po readies an army of Kung Fu Pandas to fight their new enemy and save their land.
In additional news, Black will be narrating a special Animal Planet show "Panda Republic" premiering on Jan. 26 at 8:00 pm, Multichannel reported. The show talks about giant pandas plight worldwide. The species of black and white panda bear mainly found in China are now facing the threat of getting extinct.
