Just when fans thought that they saw everything they need to see from the "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" trailers in the past, Disney drops another trailer last Thursday for the Japanese audience. This time, the latest trailer of the stand-alone Star Wars movie shows more Darth Vader.
Darth Vader, in this trailer, is donning his iconic black cape and the crimson lenses tributary to the original movies in the franchise, The Warp reported. This is such a big treat for die-hard fans, considering that this may be the last trailer they would see before the movie is released this December. In the video, one can see that Vaders hand gesture before turning to the camera looks as if he just used the Force to choke someone, like what he did in "A New Hope." Nothing was shown on weather that someone was choked to death, or who that someone is at all.
The trailer also shows a little bit back story on Lyra Erso, mother of main protagonist Jyn Erso. The mother and child shares an important moment in the trailer where Lyra gives young Jyn a Kyber crystal, ComicBook reported. Kyber crystals are integral in creating the Jedi's lightsabers, the ventral canons in "The Force Awakens," and it is also used for the Death Star's laser. Everybody knows that that laser can easily destroy an entire planet.
The upcoming movie is a story told before the "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope" events took place. It tells the story of Jyn Erso and her band of rebels on a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star. Those plans could be the ones Princess Leia handed over to R2D2 in the earlier parts of "A New Hope."
The movie will be released in US Theaters on December 16. It is directed by Gareth Edwards, the Director of the 2014 Godzilla and Monsters. It is the first Lucasfilm and Disney Star Wars stand-alone film that doesn't have the Episode number. IN the opening crawl of "A New Hope," it says that rebels from a hidden base just won their first victory against the Empire, and the Rogue One story seems to spin off directly from these lines.
