"Suicide Squad" has actually popularized many of the characters in the film, especially Harley Quinn (played by Margot Robbie). Now, there have reports of a spin-off film based on her character will be written by screenwriter Christina Hodson.

According to The Wrap, the spin-off movie, however, won't just be focusing on the dashing and perky yet psychotic villain/anti-heroine but it will focus on her other female comrades of the "Birds of Prey" as well.

For those who don't know what "Birds of Prey" is, it is team in the DC Universe formed by Barbara Gordon (former Batgirl and now Oracle, and also Commissioner Gordon's daughter) and Dinah Drake (who is also known as the Black Canary) that comprise a number of select DC characters. The team was originally comprised of heroines, although there were times that men even joined. "Birds of Prey" also appeared numerous times in TV, such as the TV drama action of the same name that premiered back in 2002 and their appearance in The CW's "Arrow" also.

In addition to Christina Hodson screenwriting the "Harley Quinn/Birds of Prey" movie, she's also going to write a "Bumblebee" spin-off film, as reported by Deadline. The studio behind the spin-off "Transformers" film, Paramount, accepted her current draft and will giving it to the directors to work with.

"Transformers: Bumblebee" is scheduled to open in theaters on June 8, 2018, which almost a year after Michael Bay's fifth installment of the "Transformers" series, titled "Transformers: The Last Knight," which opens June 23, 2017.
