Wedding Crashers, the 2005 film which stars Vince Vaugh and Owen Wilson, might be getting a sequel.
While promoting her new upcoming film "Nocturnal Animals," "Wedding Crashers" star Isla Fisher has revealed on the Today show that there have been discussions of developing a follow-up story to the comedy. According to the actress, she bumped into co-star Vaughn at a party where she first learned about the news.
"He said that apparently we're going to be making a sequel," Fisher revealed.
"So I'm really excited to see what happened to Gloria."
While Fisher confirmed that a sequel is in the works, she also said that the project is not yet a done deal. It is possible that Vaughn is still meeting up with the studio and producers that's why details are being kept under wraps. It is also yet to be determined if the original cast members will return to reprise their respective roles.
New Line Cinema has not yet commented about the news.
Directed by David Dobkins, "Wedding Crashers" is an R-rated comedy that follows Jeremy (Vaughn), an expert at crashing weddings. He recruited John (Wilson) to be his partner-in-crime as they infiltrate weddings and bed women at the same time. The film also stars Rachel McAdams (Doctor Strange), Bradley Cooper (The Hangover), Christopher Walken (Seven Psyhopaths) and Jane Seymour (Fifty Shades of Black).
The first "Wedding Crashers" was a hit in the box office, grossing a total of $285 million worldwide. Should New Line Cinema greenlit the project, the sequel will mark another reunion for Vaughn and Wilson after working on The Internship in 2013.
