EXO Lay reveals more of himself in new ‘SM the Artist’ video [Watch]

EXO Lay is the first SM Entertainment artist to be featured in their new series 'SM the Artist.'

EXO member Lay is the first SM Entertainment artist to be featured in the new series "SM the Artist." SM Entertainment is one of the largest entertainment companies in South Korea.

Being the first artist to be featured in the "SM the Artist" series, the 25-year old singer sat down in front of a piano to perform for fans and to discuss his solo debut with "Lose Control." As Allkpop reported, the color purple is designated as Lay's color code.

Lay debuted as member of the South Korean boy band EXO on April 8, 2012. After which, the singer was featured in several projects including the project dance group of SM Entertainment called "S.M. The Performance" alongside with fellow member Kai.

In 2015, Lay's label announced that a personal studio has been established in China for Lay's activities. "Currently we've set up a workshop in China on March 2015, where EXO-M's Lay will be using the workshop in condition of an exclusive contract with SM.  During his contract time, Lay will be fully supported while proceeding with his schedule in China," Koreaboo cited.

Meanwhile, Lay recently debuted his solo EP "Lose Control" last month. The EP features a total of six tracks, with two singles "what U need?" and "Lose Control."

His single "what U need?" was released as birthday gift to his fans. Following its release, the track reached number one the Alibaba real time music chart in China.

However, the track hit the fourth spot on China's V Chart as well as in Billboard's World Digital Songs. While "Lose Control" nabbed the number one spot on Billboard and V Chart for five weeks in a row.

Being a producer, Lay personally and wrote the lyrics of all of his songs. Also, the album "Lose Control" consists of six Chinese tracks.
