Fans have been delighted as they got word that Akuma will be widely expected to be the next downloadable content character in "Street Fighter V." However, recent reports say that it's still uncertain that he would still be part of the character roster.

According to reports from Shoryuken, a reveal trailer was featured - just in case for those who missed it - about the formidable Akuma during the Red Bull Battle Grounds event. Though the trailer was brief and it didn't even show Akuma's face, it would seem that developers hinted that he would be playable at the PlayStation Experience (PSX) sometime next month.

Even though Capcom's trailer for "Street Fighter V" seemed pretty brief, it was clear at the time that Akuma would be part of the bout in the game as a DLC character.

However, a recent interview with Famitsu claimed that may not be case at all, according to Capcom producers Tomoaki Ayano and Yoshinori Ono on topic of the the reveal trailer and about Akuma as well (via EventHubs).

When asked about the reveal trailer of Akuma, Ono actually pointed out that "nobody said that Akuma's in the game." They never intended that a new character would be added in the game, but they would still be made available, though only in PSX, according to him.

Ono didn't mention any other details on what to expect from PSX for "Street Fighter V." But he did note that something would be coming that "betrays everyone's expectations, in a good way, I think."

Looks like fans would have to wait at the actual event itself to see whether or not, the iconic character Akuma would appear in "Street Fighter V" in one way or another.
