The Game Awards 2016 (TGA 2016) was rife with goodies from highly acclaimed games to teasers of upcoming ones. One of the games to fully confirm its upcoming presence is Telltale Games' adaptation of Marvels' "Guardians of the Galaxy."

According to Polygon, a brief video was displayed during The Game Awards event revealing only the title graphic and that Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series" will consist of five episode in the series.

This actually isn't the first time the game was announced. Telltale had announced this back then about a month ago confirming its even prior announcement last year in April 2015. Marvel first announced that it is working with Telltale on multiple games, the first of which will be slated for release in 2017.

"The energizing blend of humor, emotion, teamwork, and full-on sci-fi action-adventure of the Guardians provides an enormously satisfying space to explore through Telltale's unique style of interactive storytelling," co-founder and CEO of Telltale Games Kevin Bruner mentioned in a blog post.

"In Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, players will take on multiple roles within the ragtag band of heroes, and take the pilot's seat in directing their escapades around the universe," Bruner went on. "We are always honored to be working with the best creative partners and storytellers in entertainment, and working with Marvel on this series leaves us excited to share what we've been developing when it premieres in 2017."

The first episode of "Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series" will be released for the consoles, PC, and mobile devices sometime on 2017. It's still quite unsure if the game will be released alongside the upcoming sequel "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," which will hit theaters on May 5, 2017. Also, no word on the videogame's cast has been announced yet, whether it will be cast members from the movie like Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana playing the roles or someone else.
