‘Assassin’s Creed' movie brings VR experience, free for Occulus Rift; game concludes Ubisoft’s anniversary giveaway

(Photo : YouTube/Assassin's Creed, Ubisoft) Despite the failure of "Assassin's Creed" to dominate the box office, its developer Ubisoft is still gearing up to produce the sequel rather than make a movie out of ''Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" or "The Division."

"Assassin's Creed" VR will be hitting theaters in US cities. Whilst game ends Ubisoft's 30th-anniversary giveaway.

During at The Games Awards, "Assassin's Creed" VR project, part of the movie adaptation, was unveiled. Samsung VR and Occulus Rift owners can stream it for free. Also, movie-goers will be able to experience it as there will be Occulus Rift kiosks on selected cinemas. The VR experience at AMC Theaters in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin and New York started on Friday until January 01. It will run during 2PM or 3PM and ends at 9PM or 10PM on these selected cinemas.

According to Matt Lewis director of the VR project, viewers will be treated to a smooth VR experience as he set the bar higher of VR concept. He also said that "360 video experiences should be just as powerful and rich as an actual film," Digital Trends  reported.

The movie stars Michael Fassbender who plays two characters as Callum Lynch and Callum's ancestor, an elite assassin named Aguilar. His character Callum is a felon who revisits his 500-year old gone ancestor's memories. Through a machine called Animus, he was able to explore the Spanish Inquisition,

On the other hand, Ubisoft's anniversary celebration concluded with a bang. The game developer's biggest franchise "Assassin's Creed 3" offered for free throughout December. It completed the list of free games such as Splinter Cell, Beyond Good and Evil, and Far Cry. This action-adventure game is playable on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC. It will be available for download on December 07. However, players who wished to get the game must note that this offer is exclusive for Ubisoft Club members and should have an active Uplay account, according to Mobipicker 

"Assassin's Creed 3" VR is part of the movie adaptation of the game which is slated for a release on December 21.
