NBA News: Chicago Bulls lose against the Trail Blazers following Rajon Rondo’s one game suspension

Chicago Bulls suspended Rajon Rondo for one game due to conduct detrimental to team. The main point guard did not play in the 110-112 loss against Portland Trail Blazers this Monday night.

Rondo was suspended after involved in the heated argument with lead assistant coach Jim Boylen according to ESPN. The verbal argument occured during the 87-102 loss against Dallas Mavericks on Saturday.

The 30-year old player was frustrated with his bad performance in the game, which he only made two points and comitted 5 turnovers. Rondo ended up getting in a verbal argument with Boylen.

After the game, the heated argument continued. Rondo who was frustrated threw towels to Boylen’s direction according to Chicago Tribune. Rondo quickly realized his mistake and apologized to the coaches and his teammates.

Everything was settled subsequently, and Rondo also attended the team holiday party on Sunday. Bulls general manager Gar Forman said that the team has left the issue behind.

“It's been addressed. We're moving on," Forman said.

His teammates also consoled him after the incident. Jimmy Butler said that Rondo has been a great player in Chicago Bulls and the incident was a bump in the road. While Dwyane Wade said they support each other, as the game against the Mavericks was a difficult and emotional one.

Bulls suspended Rondo for one game for the argument to give him time to recollect himselg. Therefore, he did not play in the 110-112 loss against Portland Trail Blazers on Monday, Nov. 5. Coach Fred Hoiberg played Jerian Grant as a starter in point guard who tallied 5 points and one assist whie Isaiah Canaan played off-the-bench as substitute point guard, scoring 10 points in 28 minutes.

Dwyane Wade led the scoring with 34 points, followed by 26 points from Jimmy Butler. But, Bulls trailed by two points at the end of the game and had their two straight loses.

Chicago Bulls will visit Detroit Pistons in their next game this Tuesday. Rondo will be able to play for the game.
