SEGA has been building up the hype for its upcoming JRPG "Valkyria: Azure Revolution" by releasing new PS4 screenshots of the game.
According to the game's official Twitter page, the screenshots for "Valkyria: Azure Revolution" showcase the the Anti-valkyria unit Vanargand, led by the hero Amleth. Other screenshots feature Jutland's princess Ophelia, and also her attendant, Miranda Villefaut.
The set of screenshots also show the original character design art for Brunhild, the titular character, which was posted by her Character Designer Takayama Toshiaki. Another character designer involved, Hiro Kiyohara, also contributed to the game's concept especially on the variety of characters. But, both Toshiaki and Kiyohara's artistic have noticeable differences in terms of style.
A previous report mentioned that, while the Japanese version will be entitled "Valkyria: Azure Revolution," the Western release of the game will have its title slightly altered to "Valkyria: Revolution." The report also covered the storyline:
"Five lifelong friends consumed by personal revenge plunge an entire continent into a terrible war, sacrificing the lives of countless innocents for a cause based on twisted half-truths and outright lies. This "Circle of Five" use their combined influence in their political and military positions to motivate their small, economically blockaded homeland to rise up and become a powerful resistance against its imperialist oppressors.
"Will the Circle of Five be remembered as heroic liberators, or will their selfish motives expose them as traitorous conspirators who sacrificed untold lives just to carry out a personal vendetta? Players will watch this history unfold in Valkyria Revolution and find out the truth behind the events."
"Valkyria: Azure Revolution" will be released in Japan for the PS4 and PS Vita on Jan. 19, 2017, while "Valkyria: Revolution" for the West will be scheduled in Q2 2017 and an Xbox One version along with it.
