NBA News: Trail Blazers' Festus Ezeli must undergo a season-ending surgery on his left knee

Portland Trail Blazers center Festus Ezeli must undergo a surgery on his left knee after a his failed to recover following rehabilitation. He will have to end his 2016-17 season with the procedure.

According to OregonLive.com, Ezeli still considers his options. He said in an interview with reporters on Saturday that wanted to fix the problem as soon as possible but he still hasn’t made decision.

“No decision has been made yet,” Ezeli said. “Right now I'm just being offered a bunch of options and just trying to figure out the best thing for my long-term health and also for the organization as well.”

Ezeli joined the Trail Blazers in the off-season when he became free agent following the end of his three-year contract with the Golden State Warriors. He was selected as the 30th overall pick in 2012 NBA draft by the Warriors. After his contract in 2016, he became free agent and the Trail Blazers signed him in July in a two-year and $16 million contract.

After his signing, Ezeli has not been able to play a single game due to his swelling kee. A month after he joined the Trail Blazers, The 6’11” center experienced a swelling with his left knee which was initially considered not too serious.

In August, he had an injection on his left knee, and have to be sidelined for six weeks. However, his knee problem recurring in October when the preseason started. Doctors had to inject his knee one more time to reduce the swelling.

However the treatment didn’t respond well, as his knee problem recurring and continue to bother him, as reported by CBS Sports. Subsequently, doctors recommended him to undergo a surgery to fix his knee problem. But the consequences is that the 27-year old center will have to miss the entire 216-17 season
