The infamous Red Wedding is an incident that "Game of Thrones" fans will find difficult to forget. However, a new Netflix series reintroduces two very familiar faces in very familiar roles.
For the uninitiated, The Red Wedding is a massacre that takes place during "The Rains of Castamere" episode, which is the ninth episode of the third season. The massacre, set up by Walder Frey, followed the marriage feast of Edmure Tully and Roslin Frey and was an act of revenge against King Robb Stark for breaking the marriage pact between House Stark and House Frey, as Radio Times pointed out.
The Red Wedding ended in several major character deaths including, Robb Stark, his wife, Queen Talisa, and his mother, Catelyn Stark. The infamous incident has now come back to haunt fans of the HBO series after two former actors have been reunited on a different Netflix show.
After Robb Stark's sister, Arya Stark, assassinated Frey during "Game of Thrones" Season 6, Richard Madden, who played Robb Stark and David Bradley, who portrayed the character of Lord Frey, bagged roles on other projects. One of those projects turned out to be Frank Sponitz and Nicholas Meyer's Netflix series "Medici: Masters of Florence."
Madden plays the role of Cosimo de Medici, a prominent ruler of Florence during the Italian Renaissance while Bradley is seen as Alessandro Bardi, the father of Medici's wife, Contessina, according to The Independent. This essentially means that Bradley is Madden's father-in-law, a relationship that was never fulfilled on "Game of Thrones."
One scene in particular from the series has "GoT" fans having mixed emotions. In the scene, Bradley gives Madden a gentle kiss on the head and sent social media into meltdown. Here are some of the hilarious reactions on Twitter:
