NBA Injury Report: Ben Simmons recovery goes well, Sixers is expecting his debut soon

Ben Simmons who broke his foot three months ago has shown progress in recovery. He is expected to begin playing soon for the Philadelphia 76ers to help lifting the team which was in a slump.

Philadelphia 76ers president Bryan Colangelo explained his expectation on Simmons as his recovery is progressing, as reported by CSN Philly. He is also being realistic for not pushing too much on the timetable of his return.

“We’re not going to do anything to put him in a position to jeopardize his future career or his impact on this organization,” Colangelo said. “When he’s ready, he’s ready.”

The recovery process of Simmons has been going very well. Since last week, he has practiced shooting free throws without his protective walking boot. While in the home games, he has joined teammates on the bench. The Sixers needs Simmons and his vast array of skills to bring impacti to the team and they already have a perfect role for his skill in the team.

According to FOX Sports, Simmons and the team have already discussed to incorporate him in the lineup. Currently the Sixers have the worse records with 7-21 and their front court is having trouble with overload big men.

The Australian who was born from an American father and Australian mother is a phenomenon for the Philadelphia 76ers. He has a multi-dimensional skill as a forward but he can dribble and make assists. Prior to the 2016-17 season, his jersey is already on the Top-10 sales list, while he didn’t even play a single NBA game.

However fans expectation to see the 76ers to higher level was shattered as Simmons broke his foot during practice session on Oct. 1. He underwent surgery and required at least three months to recover. Now as his recovery is in the final stage, fans of the 76ers will see their new player on court.
