The director of "Munna Bhai" movies Rajkumar Hirani has teamed up with writer Abhijat Joshi for a sequel to "3 Idiots."

Abhijat Joshi is known to be close to Hirani and has previously worked with him on two blockbuster hits "3 Idiots" and "PK." The sequel is rumored to have the same star cast as "3 Idiots."

The 2009 mega blockbuster movie "3 Idiots" was one of the most celebrated and influential movie of its time. It gave a major breakthrough in the society, where students were pressured by people to do what they are supposed to do and not what they want to. The movie, starring Aamir Khan, R Madhavan and, Sharman Joshi became one of the highest-grossing films of Bollywood.

From Chatur, giving his hilarious linguistic speeches to Rancho's innovative ideas, Hirani has shown the perfect camaraderie between three engineering students, and the pressure that the society outs for students these days via his powerful yet unconventional film "3 Idiots." The movie beautifully captured the essence of following one's passion and breaking mainstream norms.

The movie also had super talented actors like Boman Irani and Kareena Kapoor Khan in major roles. However, it is being speculated that there might be a few changes. The complete confirmation has not been disclosed yet regarding the cast of "3 Idiots" sequel, as told by IB Times.

"3 Idiots" was an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's novel "Five Point Someone." However, it was a loose adaptation, and many have agreed that the movie did way more justice to the story of the novel than expected.

As reported by Movie Talkies, Madhavan has agreed to be part of the movie, irrespective of the cast and script. He has dedicated himself to the movie simply because of his inclination and admiration towards Hirani.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who has produced "3 Idiots" was certainly amazed when it crossed the $350,000 mark at the box-office. This time too, the team, including Chopra is all set to up the standards and give the audience a much better showcase of their perspective.

Hirani has been quoted revealing that he only has one line ready for the sequel's script, but is already very confident about the project.
