Miami Heat is plagued by injury of their two starters. Point guard Goran Dragic suffers back spasm while power forwardJosh McRobert has a stress reaction on his foot.
Dragic suffered back spasm which made him to be sidelined in Tuesday night 94-106 loss against Oklahoma City Thunder on Dec. 27, according to report from Sun Sentinel. This back spasm is his third injury which makes him absence from the games.
Last November, he missed five games due to injury. The first three games was because of sprained left ankle, while the other two with a strained left elbow. However coach Erik Spoelstra tried to look less worried with his condition.
"There's not a breaking point," Spoelstra iterated. "You're capable of handling whatever you need to handle. In this league, anything that comes at you is an opportunity to grow as a team."
Previously, power forward McRoberts was out indefinitely after suffered a stress reaction in his foot, according to CBS Sports. McRoberts has battled with the stress reaction since last season which recurring in the off-season and the beginning of this season. He has to miss the first seven games this season.
In the absence of Dragic, Josh Richardson took over the playmaking position as point guards. He led the scoring with 22 points in the Tuesday night game, but only posted 3 assists.
Meanwhile, McRoberts has just taken over the starting lineup position in the Heat. This recurring injury has made him to lose his playing time and Derrick Williams is back again in the starting line up, backed by James Johnson.
In the game against the Thunder, Johnson showed a tremendous play, tallied 16 points and 5 rebounds off-the-bench.
