NBA Injury Report: Entering new year, many teams are battling players injury

Entering the half of the regular season this month, many teams are perplexed with injury of their star players. The Lakers, Clippers, Miami Heat and Cavaliers are some of the team that face serious deficiency with the injury of their players which they have to deal to stay ahead.

The NBA has entered its half time of the season and many teams are troubled with injury of their players. According to USA Today, the teams are forced to deal with injury in the most creative ways. They have to face to fact to keep their game ahead to win the playoff race.

However, as the new year is approaching many teams such as two Los Angeles teams the Lakers and Clippers, Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers are troubled by their injured player.

The latest news coming from Cleveland Cavaliers as reported by the NBA.com. Their starting player, shooting guard J.R. Smith was injured his thumb when he tried to sweep the ball at the first half of the game against Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday, Dec. 21. After an examination, doctor found a complex fracture in his thumb.

Smith underwent a surgery last Friday, Dec. 23 by renowned hand surgeon Dr. Thomas Graham at the Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center in Montrose, Ohio. Team physican Richard D. Parker also attended the surgery. Following the surgery, he must rest until the end the season.

Two Los Angeles teams, the Lakers and Clippers also troubled with their players’ injury. Lakers are without Larry Nance after a bone bruise and he is expected to miss the game in four weeks. While the Clippers have lost their three starting lineups, forward Blake Griffin, point guard Chris Paul and shooting guard J.J. Reddick.

Griffin is having an arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and he will miss 3-6 weeks, while both Paul and Reddick suffer hamstring injury that took some time between 1-3 weeks to recover.

Miami Heat has also lost point guard Goran Dragic with back spasm and power forward osh McRoberts with recurring stress reaction in his foot.
