Daniel Weber has come forward to defend his wife Sunny Leone, and affirmed that his wife does not need any publicity. Journalist Bhupendra Chaubey created quite a controversy after interviewing Leone. People were outraged seeing him constantly nagging Leone for being an adult star before. Chaubey also termed her as porn queen, and has attracted many negative reviews towards himself.
Recently, another side of the story popped up claiming that the interview was scripted. The whole Chaubey-Leone conversation is being touted as a publicity gimmick for Leone's upcoming film "Mastizaade."
"She is a champion and dealt with the situation in the most decent way. She called me right after the interview and told me that if you would have been here you would have dragged me out in between," Weber told Bollywoodlife.com.
He opened up revealing that Leone struggled in Bollywood and made a place for herself, despite being an outsider. Weber said that he is proud of the way she has carried herself till now. Talking about whether the interview was a stunt, he asserted that his wife was attacked with sexist and personal remarks, and nobody goes to that level for publicity.
Talking to India TV News, Weber said, "My wife is a true champion. I know how she has fought with all the negativity around her. People comment on her past and stuff her with crazy comments but she deals with all of them with utmost patience and dignity."
Daniel further expressed his anger towards the interview, calling it low and distasteful. He told media, "I get angry very easily. However, Sunny is not that kind of a person. She tries to handle everything with grace. She is the sweetest person you will ever know."
Evidently, Leone was interviewed in an awkward manner and questions were shot regarding her past, which were derogatory. She was even asked whether she feels that no superstar would work with her as she is 'porn queen.' The interview was slammed with Bollywood celebrities and fans alike.
Leone was welcomed with a warm support from almost all A-listers of Bollywood industry including, Rishi Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput, Sonam Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and others. Aamir Khan even tweeted that it would be a pleasure for him to get to work with Leone.
