Disney's "Girl Meets World" (GMS) is looking like it is about to air its final season this January, as per Shawn Hunter's (Rider Strong) revelation during his podcast last week. Writers of the show cleared his statement and gave fans hope.
In an article published by E! Online, Shawn Hunter said "the show has ended" while he was on his podcast, "Literary Disco." Fans found it even more believable when he went on said that he and his brother have finished the third season of the show, where they both directed some of its episodes and where he acted in a couple of the episodes.
Seventeen Magazine reported that followers of the show started freaking out after that revelation. Writers of the series came through using Twitter to clear things up and calm their audience. An official GMSwriters account was made for the creators of the show, as it is the platform they used to convey updates about the series.
One of the writers said that although he loves the character of Shawn Hunter since he created his image and all his quirks, fans have to remember that he was not always right. As of the moment, the network has not come out with a final decision yet regarding its cancellation.
What is up, for now, is that season 3 is about to end with just three episodes left for January.
The writers assured their viewers that whatever the networks decides regarding the future of the show, they will keep doing their best no matter what. If it reaches its inevitable end, they would like to say their gratitude to all those who have supported them since day one.
For now, fans could still expect that the show returns this January. The press has not received any reply from Rider Strong himself, regarding what he revealed during Shawn Hunter's podcast.
