The Atlanta Hawks are reportedly sending out Paul Millsap to a good deal. Millsap has been in the trade rumors for a couple weeks until today and has been linked to deal sending him to the Boston Celtics.
According to NESN, the Atlanta Hawks are currently in search of a good deal for Paul Millsap. They are now trying to send Millsap as soon as possible since he have already opted not to return next season with the Hawks.
The Hawks are currently in the same situation last season as Al Horford left their club without getting something in return. Al Horford signed with the Boston Celtics as a free agent last season.
Millsap opted not to re-sign and will enter the market as an unrestricted free agent. His declining stats and numbers while playing with Dwight Howard could be the possible reason why he wants to get out of the team.
According to the Celtics Blog, Paul Millsap is now linked with the Celtics as the trade rumors said. Jae Crowder and Jaylen Brown are among the players who are rumored to be part of the said NBA trade along with a second round pick next season.
If the Hawks could pull a blockbuster trade with the Celtics, Paul Millsap will reunite with his former teammate Al Horford. Paul Millsap would be playing a full-time center and would possible match with the Cleveland Cavaliers if he got paired with Avery Bradley, Al Horford and Isaiah Thomas.
Part of the Hawks' issue, Kyle Korver and Thabo Sefolosha are also in their contract year, this mean that they will also be a free agent next summer. Hawks claim that they are also willing to trade Korver and Sefolosha along with Paul Millsap.
Millsap's current stats are declining, he averaged 8.2 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per contest compared to a 9.0 rebound and 1.7 blocks last season.
He may be a good addition to the Celtics core players since he can play offense and defense. Millsap is a very versatile player, he can play the low-post area and is a dangerous threat outside the 3-point line.
