Lee Tae Gon was reported to have been involved in an alleged assault case against two unknown perpetrators on Saturday.
According to Soompi, the encounter took place around 1:00 a.m. in Yongin, where the actor was reportedly beaten up by two men for allegedly refusing to shake their hands. "The other party claims that it was assault, so we are currently investigating," a source affiliated with the police said.
It continued, "It looks like there was an argument with people who call themselves fans. It seems like they started a quarrel and only Lee Tae Gon got hit."
The source revealed the other party involved in the assault was allegedly drunk, adding that they immediately headed home after the encounter with Lee Tae Gon. On the other hand, the actor had to be sent to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.
Koreaboo reported Lee Tae Gon already gave his testimonies to the police before he went to the Bundang Seoul University Hospital to receive treatment for his broken nose.
The other party reportedly claimed they were also assaulted by the actor, yet, the police found no trace of injuries on their part. Hence, the authorities will conduct investigation on what happened during the encounter.
A witness also revealed the two men allegedly assaulted Lee Tae Gon, who refused to strike back. Given the differences of the statements provided by the two parties, the police authorities are planning to look through the CCTV footage of the incident to determine what happened.
Meanwhile, Lee Tae Gon's party has spoken up about the issued and claimed the actor is the victim of this case. "Lee Tae Gon is the victim of being unilaterally hit by two men. His face was injured and he has received treatment. He went to the police to testify as a victim," the actor's side said.
