Each year, the gala event is aired on the eve of Chinese New Year on CCTV's flagship and satellite channels, including CCTV-1, CCTV-4, CCTV-9, CCTV-E CCTV-F and the latest CCTV-HD. The show that marks the beginning of new lunar year is considered the most watched television program in China with the largest audience for any entertainment show in China.

According to Korea Times, Kangta will perform a duet with Lynn Hung. Together, the celebs will sing the title song for CCTV's entertainment program "Ding Ge Long Dong Qiang."

The 36-year-old singer started his music career at the age of 13. Later, in 1996, he became the member of five-member band H.O.T. that consisted of Moon Hee-jun, Jang Woo-hyuk, Tony An, and Lee Jae-won among others. It was disbanded in 2001 and since disbandment Kangta is a solo singer.

He became the first former H.O.T. member to release the solo album. In 2001, he launched "Polaris" which became an instant hit. He went on to release three more Korean studio albums: "Pine Tree" (2002), "Persona" (2005) and "Eternity" (2008).

Meanwhile, Koogle TV reports that Kangta will be performing at his former co-member Moon's finale concert. Celebrating 20 years of his successful career, Moon kicked off solo concert on Jan. 23 which is followed by two more shows on Jan. 24 and Jan. 30 before closing it on Jan. 31 with Kangta.

Kangta's appearance has led to the rise of H.O.T.'s reunion rumours. However, Moon's tour manager has confirmed that Kangta will be appearing as a guest and it has nothing to with the reunion.
