Nam Joo Hyuk admitted in an interview that he has several similarities with Jung Joon Hyeong from the recently-ended "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo."
The actor said that just like Jung Joon Hyeong, he is person who finds it hard to express his feelings, Allkpop noted. "I'm the son who does everything that my mom wants me to do, but can't seem to give her a hug [when I'm in front of her]," he said.
Nam Joo Hyuk added, "I express myself through text message, on the phone, or a card. I just can't show [my feelings] face to face."
Aside from being unexpressive, the actor said he is like Jung Joon Hyeong when it comes to love. He said both of them are aggressive and open; hence, the actor immediately thought it would be easier for him to play the role on "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo."
"When I first received the script, I knew I could do well because he had a lot of similarities to me," he added.
"Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" aired its final episode on Jan. 11. According to Soompi, the actor admitted he was sad during the last day of taping for the drama series.
Nam Joo Hyuk said the set of "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" was a happy environment, thus, ending the journey with the people he has worked with saddened him.
Despite keeping a viewership rating of five percent, the actor is still happy to have worked with the staff and crew of "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo." Nam Joo Hyuk said, "Our goal was to focus on creating a good project with fun memories instead of dwelling on ratings, so I don't feel sad about it."
After playing as Jung Joon Hyeong on "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo," the actor thought he would show more of his mature side rather than staying with his "cute aspect."
